All fabrics are laundered prior to sewing to eliminate shrinkage upon subsequent washings. All silks can be dry cleaned, however, there are many silks that can be hand washed carefully in lukewarm water with Ivory flakes or baby shampoo.

Detailed laundry instructions will be accompany each gown. There are decided advantages to washing silk rather than dry cleaning, since each time a garment is hand washed in lukewarm water the Sericin is refreshed. After washing the silk will have a better hand and be genuinely refreshed.

Upon Receiving Your Gown

Each gown is shipped in an acid free box with archive tissue paper. Gowns should be stored flat so as not to put pressure on the shoulders.

Included with each gown is a padded hanger, a protective bag, an archival journal to record the name of every child who wears the gown.

Passing Down The Gown

Each slip is hand embroidered with the initials of the first child to wear the dress. You are welcome to send the slip back to me to be embroidered with the initials of the next child to wear the gown. A small fee will apply.
